picwork

How picwork works

A short walk-through, homeowner side and pilot side.

For homeowners

  1. Post a job. Title, short brief, pin the location on the map, set a budget, optionally a deadline.
  2. Pilots in your area see it. All pilots are identity-verified and licensed. First one to accept is yours.
  3. Pay the platform fee. Tiered: 8% on the first $300, 5% on $300–$1000, 3% above. Once a pilot accepts you have 48 hours to pay or the acceptance is cancelled. Paying locks the pilot in and unlocks the exact address for them.
  4. Chat to confirm timing. Messaging opens automatically. Swap dates, access details, special requests.
  5. Review previews in-app.When the pilot uploads, you'll see every shot — watermarked and downscaled — in your gallery.
  6. Pay the pilot directly.Bank transfer, PayID, whatever you agree. picwork doesn't touch this money.
  7. Pilot releases HD. Once they confirm receipt, full-resolution originals unlock and you can download the zip.

For pilots

  1. Sign up, submit KYC. License number, licensing authority, photo ID. Admin approval takes 1–2 business days.
  2. Set your service area.Pin your base, pick a radius. You'll only see jobs inside it.
  3. Accept a job.First-come wins. The homeowner has 24 hours to pay the platform fee. If they don't, the job returns to the feed — you aren't locked in.
  4. Fly the job, upload. JPEGs only, any size — the app generates previews automatically.
  5. Get paid directly by the homeowner.picwork doesn't hold the money — which means no chargebacks, no freeze holds, no 30-day settlement. Bank transfer or PayID to your account.
  6. Release HD.Click the button when you've been paid. The homeowner gets full-res originals and the job closes.

Safeguards

  • Exact address is hidden until the platform fee is paid. Feed and job listings show suburb only.
  • Contact info in chat is redacted.Sharing phone numbers or emails in-thread gets hidden automatically. Keep communications on picwork — it's where our dispute review looks first.
  • 7-day HD auto-release.If a pilot never confirms payment, HD unlocks anyway and the pilot gets a warning. You're not stuck chasing someone.
  • 72-hour dispute window after HD release. After that the job auto-closes.
